In this, food in the form of Prasad is provided to young girls in homes and temples. In most of the houses, there is a custom of making halwa, gram and puri as prasad on Ashtami and ninth day. This year Ashtami will be celebrated on 16th April and Ninth on 17th April.

The combination of halwa, chana and puri is not only considered delicious but is also very easy to make. It does not take much time to fry black gram and make semolina pudding. If you make halwa and gram prasad using the recipe given below, it will not only be tasty but will also be considered beneficial from health point of view. Keeping in mind Navratri Prasad and Kanya Bhoj, onion and garlic will not be added to it. However, on other days onion can also be added to it.

Semolina Halwa for Kanya Puja can be made with the easy recipe given below. In this you can increase or decrease the quantity depending on your taste and availability of ingredients.

100 grams semolina

1/4 cup ghee

1/2 cup sugar

½ tsp cardamom powder

1 teaspoon finely chopped cashews

1 teaspoon finely chopped almonds

1 teaspoon raisins

With the ingredients mentioned above, you can prepare the most delicious semolina halwa in just a few minutes. If you want, you can also garnish it with dry coconut. Note the semolina halwa recipe.

1- Heat ghee in a pan.

2- Now fry semolina on low flame. Take care that the semolina does not burn otherwise the taste will deteriorate.

3- As soon as the color of semolina turns golden, add dry fruits to it and let it roast lightly.

4- Then add water as per requirement. After this add sugar and keep stirring well until the water dries up.

5- Turn off the gas after 4-5 minutes. Remove the pan from the flame and sprinkle cardamom powder on the halwa. Semolina pudding is ready. Serve hot.

Special tip- If you want, you can make semolina pudding with milk instead of water.

2 cups black gram

1/2 tsp cumin

1/4 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp coriander powder

1/4 tsp dry mango powder

3 tbsp green coriander

a little ginger

2 tbsp ghee

3 green chillies

1/4 tsp red chilli powder

1/4 tsp garam masala

salt as per taste

In most of the houses that worship Mata Rani during Navratri, onion and garlic are not consumed for 9 days. Know how to make black gram without onion and garlic.

1- Soak the gram in water overnight and the next day wash the gram thoroughly and cook it in the cooker with 1 cup of water and salt for 1-2 whistles.

2- Switch off the gas and after the pressure releases, take out the gram in a vessel.

3- Put oil in the pan and heat it. Add cumin, ginger and green chilli and fry.

4- After some time, add turmeric, chilli powder and coriander powder and mix.

5- Add boiled gram with spices and cook it all by adding some water.

6- When the gram dries, add lemon juice to it and mix.

4 bowls wheat flour

1 spoon ghee (for moyan)

salt as per taste

oil or ghee for frying

Actually, making puri is very easy and most people would know it. But if you are a beginner then you can make puri with this recipe-

1- To make Puri, take flour in a plate. Add ghee to it for kneading.

2- Then add water as per requirement and knead a stiff dough.

3- Keep oil or ghee to heat and make round balls from the dough and roll out the puri.

4- As soon as the oil is hot, put the puri in it and cook it from both the sides.

Serve the scrumptious Prasad of Halwa Chana Puri hot. If you want, you can also give curd, raita and cucumber along with it.
